Bubble Flip

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
A pressure back-foot hospital flip. The back foot rolls the board a quarter turn towards the rider and then kicks it back, which produces a varial-heelflip sort of motion without any of it coming from the front foot. Same shape as a hospital flip and a different engine - all pressure off the tail rather than a catch and return by the front foot.
Step by step
- Set the back foot across the tail with the toes over the heel edge.
- Press down and roll the board a quarter turn towards you.
- Kick back against the risen rail to send the roll the other way.
- Let the shove take the ends round while the roll comes home.
- Catch wheels-down and ride away.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Barely involved - lifts clear and comes back only for the landing. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Does everything: the quarter roll in, the kick back, and the shove. |
| Shoulders | Square over a trick that happens entirely under the back foot. |
| Arms | Low and level. |
| Gaze | On the tail rail, which is the only thing being driven. |
