Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
The diagonal 5-0 with the obstacle at the toes: the back truck grinds while the nose is punched across the ledge to hang over the far side, deck clear of the edge, board skewed like a front feeble that never sets its shelf down. Committing the chest over a toe-side edge while balancing one hanger is the crux - leaning back to safety pulls the truck off the corner. The pop-out is a tail-snap back toward the near side that squares the board under the rider before landing.
Step by step
- Roll at the obstacle on your toe side with confident speed.
- Ollie in, twisting the front of the board over the edge while keeping the nose up.
- Land the rear hanger alone on the corner, nose suspended past the far side.
- Drive your chest over the ledge, hips stacked on the back axle.
- Hold the diagonal with quiet upper-body tension as the truck grinds.
- Snap the nose back over the near side and pop off the tail, landing square and rolling away.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Holds the nose across and above the obstacle; its lateral tension sets the salad skew. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | All weight through the ball of the foot on the tail, over the grinding hanger. |
| Shoulders | Closed slightly toward the ledge with the chest committed above it. |
| Arms | Leading arm reaches past the far side; trailing arm balances low behind the hip. |
| Gaze | Over the far side at lock-in, then down the grind line. |
