How it works
A caballerial with a mute grab: riding up the wall fakie, the rider spins a full 360 backside - upright, never inverted - while the front hand holds the toe rail, and re-enters riding forward. Taking off fakie is what makes the arithmetic work: a full 360 from a fakie approach brings you down forward. The mute grab both stabilizes the spin and distinguishes the trick - the same rotation without the grab is a caballerial, and grabbing turns it into the gay twist.
Step by step
- Ride up the transition fakie with strong speed, wound up to spin backside.
- Leave the coping and immediately grab mute as the spin begins, head turning first.
- Rotate a full upright 360 with the grab locked, board and body spinning as one unit.
- Spot the wall past your leading shoulder as the rotation completes.
- Release the grab, kill the spin with your shoulders, and re-enter riding forward below the coping.
