Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. How it works
Steve Caballero's namesake: riding up the wall fakie, the rider ollies and spins a full ungrabbed 360 backside, re-entering forward. The fakie takeoff makes the rotation land forward (fakie plus 360 equals forward re-entry), and doing it without a grab is the original standard - the board stays with the feet purely through ollie mechanics and centripetal discipline. Add a mute grab and it becomes the gay twist; take it to flatground and it is the full cab.
Step by step
- Ride up the transition fakie with speed, shoulders wound to spin backside.
- Pop a fakie ollie off the lip, releasing the wind-up as the wheels leave.
- Suck the board up under you and rotate 360 upright, feet pressing the grip without a grab.
- Spot the wall over your leading shoulder as the spin closes.
- Level the board, kill the rotation, and re-enter riding forward below the coping.
Body mechanics
