How it works
A two-footed nose wheelie named after surfing's hang ten - both feet side by side on the nose, 'ten toes over', with the tail floating behind. All the rider's mass is cantilevered ahead of the front axle, balanced against the leverage of the raised tail; the equilibrium window is tiny, and corrections are made by flexing the ankles and shifting the hips fore-aft. Because both feet are at the very end of the lever, there is no second foot behind to bail the balance out, which is what separates it from an ordinary nose manual.
Step by step
- Roll at moderate speed and walk both feet up to the nose, side by side, toes toward the tip.
- Ease the hips forward until the tail lifts and the board balances on the front wheels.
- Stack shoulders over hips over the front axle, knees soft.
- Trim pitch with ankle flex: toes-down presses the nose, heels-down lets the tail drop.
- Ride the wheelie, steering gently with hip lean.
- Ease weight back to set the tail's wheels down and walk the feet back to the bolts.
