Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
A handstand done in a 50/50. From a 50/50 or pogo the rider grabs the bottom truck - the one the back foot is on - and goes into a handstand with the other hand holding the nose, so the whole body is inverted over a board standing on end. It is landed by throwing a half flip out of it.
Step by step
- Set up in a 50/50 with the board vertical on the bottom truck.
- Take hold of that bottom truck with one hand.
- Put the other hand on the nose and kick up into the handstand.
- Hold the invert with the board standing on end beneath you.
- Throw a half flip out of it and land back on the board.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Comes off the board entirely for the handstand. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Leaves the truck as the hands take over holding the board up. |
| Shoulders | Carry the whole body weight while gripping a vertical board. |
| Arms | One on the bottom truck, one on the nose - the board is held by both. |
| Gaze | Down the board at the truck on the ground. |
