roll yaw pitch body

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.

How it works

A nightmare flip with a frontside 180 of the body against it - two kickflip rotations inside a backside shove while the rider turns the other way. The double roll needs all the hang time the pop can give, and the counter-rotating body varial takes some of it back.

Step by step

  1. Roll in fast and set up as for a nightmare flip.
  2. Pop, scoop backside and flick hard enough for two rolls.
  3. Throw the shoulders frontside as the board leaves.
  4. Let the feet come off and count two rolls under a body turning the other way.
  5. Catch it on the second roll and ride away.

Body mechanics

Front footOne hard flick for two rotations, then off the board entirely.
Back footScoops backside while the body commits frontside.
ShouldersFrontside 180, against everything the board is doing.
ArmsSwing frontside to force the turn through the scoop's resistance.
GazeDown at where the board will be rather than following it round.
