Nollie Impossible

Shown for a regular-footed rider riding nollie. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
An impossible popped and wrapped from the nose while rolling forward: the front foot scoops the nose down and back so the board wraps end-over-end around the front foot - the stance-mirrored image of the back-foot impossible's tail-first wrap. Executing the vertical wrap at the leading end of a forward-rolling board shrinks the timing window, and the back foot must hover through the whole loop before taking the catch.
Step by step
- Roll in nollie stance with the front foot's toes wrapped over the nose pocket.
- Snap the nose down-and-back, jumping as the board begins to wrap around the front foot.
- Keep the wrap tight - board hugging the foot - through the full end-over-end rotation.
- Hover the back foot high over where the tail will return.
- Level the board out of the wrap, set both feet, and roll away forward.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Scoops and axles the wrap from the nose, staying in contact through the rotation. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Lifts immediately and waits, dropping onto the bolts as the board flattens. |
| Shoulders | Square, stacked slightly over the front leg for the nose scoop. |
| Arms | Quiet frame; slight forward reach balances the leading-end wrap. |
| Gaze | On the wrapping board, then to the landing. |
