Front-Foot Impossible

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
The impossible's mirror around the other foot: after the pop the front foot hooks the nose and scoops it down and back, wrapping the board end-over-end forward around the front foot - nose-under, tail-over-the-top - through one full lateral-axis rotation. The board hugs the wrapping foot as in a regular impossible, but the rotation direction is forward, kin to the dolphin flip; the back foot lifts rearward and returns only for the level catch.
Step by step
- Set the front foot with the toes wrapped over the nose pocket, back foot light on the tail.
- Pop a small ollie and immediately hook the nose down-and-back with the front foot.
- Let the board wrap forward around the front foot, tail arcing over the top.
- Hold the back foot high and rearward, clear of the wrapping tail.
- Flatten the board out with the front foot as the loop completes, replace the back foot, and land.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Hooks and guides the full forward wrap, maintaining contact like a ball rolled around the instep. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Pops, then evacuates rearward until the catch on the tail bolts. |
| Shoulders | Square with a forward hinge over the wrapping foot. |
| Arms | Low and forward, framing the board's vertical loop. |
| Gaze | Down at the front foot and board through the entire wrap. |
