roll yaw pitch body

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.

How it works

A boneless taken through a full 360-degree frontside rotation of board and body around the vertical axis. The planted leg launches the rider while the torso is already unwinding from a backside pre-wind; the grabbing hand pins the board to the body so the pair rotates as one unit through the blind rear half. The grab is released and the front foot replaced only after the landing rotates back into view.

Step by step

  1. Wind the shoulders backside while grabbing the toe-side rail with the back hand.
  2. Plant the front foot heel-side and spring hard while releasing the wind-up frontside.
  3. Hold the grab tight, tucking the board against the back foot through the full spin.
  4. Whip the head around to re-spot the landing at three-quarters.
  5. Replace the front foot, release the grab, and land rolling in the original direction.

Body mechanics

Front footPlants and springs, then tucks during the spin before returning to the bolts.
Back footPresses the deck against the grabbing hand, locking the board to the rotation.
ShouldersDeep backside wind-up, full frontside release - they power the whole 360.
ArmsGrab arm clamps the board; free arm whips and tucks to speed the spin.
GazeLeads the rotation, finding the landing over the front shoulder.
