Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
With the front foot planted, the back foot scoops the tail hard frontside so the board wraps a full 360 degrees around the vertical axis behind the planted leg while the rider hops in place over it. Unlike the 180 version the body does not need to rotate; the board orbits the stationary rider and is caught back under the feet after the full wrap. Body-rotation variants exist, but the full board wrap is the established form.
Step by step
- Roll slowly with the back foot centered on the tail and shoulders quiet.
- Plant the front foot heel-side next to the front truck.
- Scoop the tail violently frontside and slightly down, sending the board into a full 360 yaw around your planted leg.
- Hop off the planted foot and keep the back foot hovering over the spinning deck.
- Catch the grip with the back foot as the nose completes the wrap, front foot returning to the bolts.
- Land centered and roll away in the original stance.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Plants and holds ground as the axis the board orbits; springs up at the catch. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Delivers the entire 360 of yaw with one hard frontside scoop, then tracks and catches the grip. |
| Shoulders | Stay square to the direction of travel; resisting rotation keeps the catch aligned. |
| Arms | Out for balance while hovering over the spinning board. |
| Gaze | Locked on the deck to time the catch at the end of the wrap. |
