roll yaw pitch body

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.

How it works

A backside 360 ollie with a kickflip: rider and board rotate a full 360 backside together around the vertical axis while the board also rolls once in the kickflip direction. Unlike the 360 flip (where the board spins and the body doesn't), here there is no yaw between board and rider - the flick is a plain kickflip flick released inside a spinning reference frame, and the catch happens two-thirds blind. Distinct from and much rarer than the tre flip, despite sharing the casual name '360 kickflip'.

Step by step

  1. Wind the shoulders hard frontside in kickflip stance, back foot slightly heel-side on the tail.
  2. Pop tall and release the full backside body rotation.
  3. Flick the heel-side nose corner within the first quarter of the spin.
  4. Tuck and let the flip finish early while body and board continue rotating together.
  5. Catch around 180, ride the remaining rotation, and land rolling forward, pivoting out any shortfall.

Body mechanics

Front footStandard kickflip flick delivered while the platform rotates; re-catches early and rides the spin.
Back footPops, then pins the tail so the board's yaw never separates from the body's.
ShouldersFull frontside wind-up and violent backside release - they must power 360 of rider-plus-board.
ArmsThrown at release, tucked hard mid-spin.
GazeLeads the rotation; the flip is caught by feel, the landing spotted in the final quarter.
