Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
A 360 inward heelflip with a 180 body rotation in the same direction, which puts the board through 540 backside with a heelflip in it. The inward direction makes the board come out from under the rider rather than round them, so the body's 180 has to be timed against a board that is leaving rather than following.
Step by step
- Set up as for a 360 inward heelflip.
- Scoop backside for the full turn and start the shoulders with it.
- Flick the heel out to roll the board inside the spin.
- Hold the shoulders at 180 while the board finishes the remaining 360.
- Catch level and ride away fakie.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Kicks the heel out and clears the board's path. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Scoops the 540 backside. |
| Shoulders | 180 and no further - stopping them is what makes it a bigspin. |
| Arms | Wrapped backside, then opened to spot the deck. |
| Gaze | Over the shoulder and then down onto the board. |
