Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
An inward heelflip carried through a full 360 of backside yaw: the board heelflips once around its long axis while the tail is scooped heel-ward through a complete revolution. As with the 360 hardflip, opposing roll and yaw send the board steeply between the legs, but here the heel snap must find the toe-side pocket of a nose that is rotating into it - early timing is everything, and the catch arrives grip-up with the ends restored.
Step by step
- Inward-heel stance: back foot in backside scoop position, front toes over the toe edge.
- Crouch deep with weight centered between the trucks.
- Pop and wrap the tail heel-ward through a full backside revolution.
- Snap the heel off the toe-side nose pocket the instant the nose begins its swing.
- Part the knees around the climbing, spinning board.
- Catch grip-up at full rotation and land over the bolts.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Immediate heel snap - the toe-side pocket rotates toward the heel, so the flick fires before the wrap develops. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Full-revolution backside scoop that must also clear the ankle from the whipping tail. |
| Shoulders | Square, hinged slightly forward over the board's vertical corridor. |
| Arms | Compact and high, keeping the silhouette clear of the board. |
| Gaze | Between the feet, tracking grip orientation to call the catch. |
