Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
The board yaws 360 degrees backside (ground-relative) while the body rotates 180 backside in the same direction, so the board completes only a 180 relative to the turning rider. The back foot's scoop supplies the board's full revolution while the shoulders drive the half-turn of the body; both rotations share one direction, letting the scoop and wind-up reinforce each other. Lands rolling fakie.
Step by step
- Set up as for a 360 pop shove-it but wind the shoulders slightly frontside.
- Pop and scoop the tail through a full backside wrap while releasing the shoulders backside.
- Turn the body 180 with the scoop, keeping the spinning board under your center.
- Spot the grip as your half-turn completes and the board finishes its full turn.
- Catch with both feet over the bolts and land rolling fakie.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Lifts out of the scoop and travels with the turning body, catching the bolts as rotations sync. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Scoops a full 360 of board yaw, then follows the body's 180. |
| Shoulders | Small frontside wind-up, smooth backside release timed exactly with the scoop. |
| Arms | Sweep backside to carry the body's 180 without stealing the board's spin. |
| Gaze | Down and over the trailing shoulder, keeping the deck in view for the catch. |
