Cannonball

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
Both hands grab at once - front hand on the nose, back hand on the tail - while the body tucks into a ball over the deck, like a cannonball dive with a skateboard attached. Holding both kicks locks the board's pitch completely, so the trick becomes a pure tuck-and-time exercise: the tighter the ball, the slower the system's rotation drifts, but both hands must release with enough height left to stand up for landing.
Step by step
- Boost a straight air with real amplitude - double grabs punish low airs.
- Compress hard, pulling knees to chest as both hands reach for the kicks.
- Grab nose with front hand and tail with back hand simultaneously, tucking into a ball.
- Hold the cannonball tuck through the peak, board clamped rigid beneath you.
- Release both hands early on the descent, extend the legs, and set the re-entry.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Flat on the grip inside the double grab, knees crushed to the chest. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | On the tail, mirroring the front foot inside the tuck. |
| Shoulders | Curl forward into the ball, spine rounded over the deck. |
| Arms | Both committed to the grabs - there is no balancing arm, which is the trick's real difficulty. |
| Gaze | Through your knees at the transition, tracking when to unfold. |
