Dolphin Heel
also known as: Porpoise Flip · Forward Heelflip

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
The dolphin flip mirrored onto the heel side. The front foot pushes off the nose so the board dives almost vertically nose-first between the legs while rolling half a turn in the heelflip direction - the two halves together are what bring the wheels back down, exactly as in the dolphin, but produced from the heel edge.
Step by step
- Ollie and let the front foot come forward onto the nose.
- Push down and out so the nose dives between your legs.
- Let the board roll half a turn heel-side as it pitches over.
- Watch the wheels come back round underneath.
- Catch it level and ride away.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Pushes off the nose to pitch the board and start the heel-side roll together. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Pops, then lifts high to let the board come through. |
| Shoulders | Square; the board rotates on two axes and the body on none. |
| Arms | Out for balance over a board that leaves the feet completely. |
| Gaze | Down between the legs, following the nose. |
