roll yaw pitch body

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.

How it works

A kickflip with two full rotations around the long axis before the catch. Extra roll rate comes from a sharper, faster flick - snapped harder off the heel-side nose pocket with a stiffer ankle - rather than from more flick travel, and the pop is taller to buy the extra revolution time. The feet must stay clear noticeably longer, and the catch is timed by watching the grip complete its second pass.

Step by step

  1. Set up exactly as for a kickflip, perhaps with the front foot a touch further back for a longer flick runway.
  2. Pop taller than a normal kickflip.
  3. Snap the flick off the heel-side nose pocket with maximum ankle speed.
  4. Keep knees tucked high while the board rolls twice.
  5. Watch for the second grip pass and catch with the back foot.
  6. Set down over the bolts and roll away.

Body mechanics

Front footSame diagonal path as a kickflip but with a whip-crack ankle snap; retracts higher afterward.
Back footBigger pop, then patience - the most common failure is catching after one rotation.
ShouldersSquare and still; extra flick force tempts the shoulders to twist.
ArmsLift for maximum airtime.
GazeLocked on the grip, explicitly counting two flips before committing the feet.
