Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
A back-foot ollie impossible and a kickflip driven by the same foot in a single motion. The board wraps a full turn end-over-end around the back foot, and the same scoop that sends it round also puts a flip through it, so the two rotations arrive on different axes off one push. Getting both out of one foot is the whole difficulty: scoop too hard and the impossible eats the flip, flick too hard and the wrap collapses.
Step by step
- Set the back foot deep in the tail pocket, toes hanging off the heel edge.
- Scoop hard so the board starts wrapping end-over-end around that foot.
- As it comes round, drive the same foot across to put a kickflip through it.
- Track both rotations - the wrap and the roll are on different axes and finish together.
- Catch it level over the bolts and ride away.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Stays clear over the front bolts and does nothing until the catch - this is a back-foot trick. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Does both jobs: the scoop that wraps the board and the flick that rolls it. |
| Shoulders | Square and level; nothing rotates about the vertical so any turn only fights the wrap. |
| Arms | Low and quiet, holding the body still over a board doing two things at once. |
| Gaze | On the tail as it comes round the foot - that is what tells you the wrap is on time. |
