Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
A bigspin with a kickflip: the board rolls once around its long axis in the kickflip direction and yaws 360 backside while the body rotates 180 backside. Effectively a 360 flip caught by a rider who has half-turned with it - the back foot's tre-flip scoop supplies flip and yaw simultaneously, the front foot flicks off the heel-side nose pocket, and the shoulders carry the body's 180 so the catch happens in fakie orientation.
Step by step
- Set up as for a 360 flip: back foot cupping the tail pocket, front foot angled behind the front bolts.
- Wind the shoulders slightly frontside and crouch.
- Pop and scoop the full backside wrap while flicking the front foot off the heel-side nose corner.
- Turn the body 180 backside with the scoop, tracking the flipping, spinning deck.
- Catch the grip as the flip and 360 complete, feet finding the bolts in fakie orientation.
- Land rolling fakie.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Ball of the foot behind the front bolts angled 45 degrees; flicks out the heel-side nose pocket, then rotates with the body to catch. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Tre-flip scoop - down, around, and through - feeding both flip and 360 yaw, then following the hips. |
| Shoulders | Release 180 backside in time with the scoop; lagging shoulders leave the trick under-turned. |
| Arms | Balance through the half-turn; back arm sweeps to carry the rotation. |
| Gaze | On the flipping grip until the catch, then over the shoulder to the fakie run-out. |
