Shown for a regular-footed rider riding fakie. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
Riding fakie, the rider pops a fakie ollie and rotates board and body 180 degrees backside around the vertical axis, ending rolling forward in their natural stance. Because the rider is already moving tail-first, the rotation unwinds with the direction of travel and the landing arrives in full view, making it one of the most natural 180 variants.
Step by step
- Roll fakie in ollie position, shoulders wound slightly frontside.
- Pop a fakie ollie while unwinding the shoulders backside.
- Level the board and let the hips carry board and body through 180.
- Spot the landing early - it rotates into view in front of you.
- Land over the bolts rolling forward in normal stance.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Standard fakie-ollie placement; presses through the nose to steer the rotation. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Pops the tail, then carries it around toward the toes. |
| Shoulders | Small frontside wind-up, smooth backside release; rotation is mostly hips on this trick. |
| Arms | Compact and low; the momentum of fakie roll supplies much of the spin. |
| Gaze | Turns immediately with the rotation to the landing, which faces you by 90 degrees in. |
