Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
The board wraps 540 degrees backside while the rider performs a full 360-degree backside body rotation in the same direction - distinguishing it from the biggerspin, whose body turn is only 180. Board yaw relative to the rider is again 180, so the trick feels like a giant bigspin: scoop and full-body spin release together, and the rider lands ends-swapped rolling in their original stance and direction.
Step by step
- Wind the shoulders hard frontside over a deep crouch, back foot wrapped in the tail pocket.
- Pop and scoop a full 540 backside wrap while releasing the entire wind-up into a 360 body spin.
- Tuck knees and arms so the body's full rotation keeps pace with the board's one-and-a-half.
- Whip the head around to re-spot the deck during the blind middle of the spin.
- Catch over the bolts as both rotations complete and land rolling forward in your original stance.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Tucks with the spinning body and finds the bolts by feel and late sight. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Feeds 540 of yaw into the tail, then leads the body's rotation to the catch. |
| Shoulders | Maximum frontside wind-up, total backside release - they drive a full revolution of body spin. |
| Arms | Thrown then tucked hard; spin rate lives in the arms. |
| Gaze | Leads the rotation, losing and re-acquiring the board once mid-spin. |
