Nollie Flip

Shown for a regular-footed rider riding nollie. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.
How it works
A kickflip popped from the nose: the front foot snaps the nose down while the back foot slides toward the tail and flicks off the heel-side tail pocket, rolling the board once grip-toward-heels around its long axis. The flicking foot is the back foot - reversing the kickflip's division of labor - and the flick must be delivered behind the body while traveling forward, which compresses the timing window dramatically.
Step by step
- Nollie stance: front foot on the nose pocket, back foot flat just behind the mid-bolts, angled toward the heel edge.
- Crouch with slight front-leg bias.
- Snap the nose down and jump off the front foot.
- Slide the back foot diagonally toward the tail and flick off the heel-side tail corner.
- Level the knees as the board rolls once beneath you.
- Catch grip-up, land over the bolts, and roll away forward.
Body mechanics
| Front foot | Delivers the nose pop, then lifts and levels - it is the 'ollie foot' of this trick. |
|---|---|
| Back foot | Angled 45 degrees toward the heel edge behind the mid-bolts; slides back and snaps off the heel-side tail pocket to create the roll. |
| Shoulders | Square with a slight forward stack over the nose pop. |
| Arms | Compact; the front arm guards against the forward pitch of the nollie pop. |
| Gaze | Down at the tail-ward flick, then to the grip for the catch. |
