roll yaw pitch body

Shown for a regular-footed rider. Teal ring + arrow = the rider's facing direction; teal band = the tail; a dot is where a hand holds the board - bright yellow for the front hand, amber for the back one, which is the whole difference between a mute and an indy. Board and rider rotate independently - each follows its own component. Drag to orbit.

How it works

A kickflip combined with a backside 180 shove: the board simultaneously rolls once around its long axis (grip toward the heels) and yaws 180 backside around its vertical axis, landing ends-swapped. The back foot performs the pop-scoop of a shove-it while the front foot delivers a kickflip flick; because the nose rotates away heel-ward as it flips, the flick is shorter and more downward than a plain kickflip's, meeting the retreating pocket early.

Step by step

  1. Back foot in pop-shove scoop position on the tail; front foot in kickflip position behind the front bolts.
  2. Crouch with shoulders square.
  3. Pop and scoop the tail heel-ward as in a pop shove-it.
  4. Flick the heel-side nose corner immediately - earlier and shorter than a normal kickflip flick.
  5. Let the board flip once and yaw 180 beneath square shoulders.
  6. Catch with the back foot on the (former) nose, land over the bolts, roll away.

Body mechanics

Front footShort, early, downward flick off the heel-side nose pocket as the nose rotates away.
Back footShove-it pop-scoop toward the heels; sets the yaw while the front foot sets the roll.
ShouldersSquare; the combined rotations happen entirely below a quiet torso.
ArmsSlightly out; the trick is compact and needs little counterbalance.
GazeDown through flick and catch, watching for grip-up before landing.
